I believe that the the power of a first-hand experience is the best way to move the needle.

As a leading agricultural presenter, I talk about my own experiences with regenerative farming, cover crops, carbon trading and climate change. I speak candidly and hope to motivate and inspire audiences worldwide to make a change— on their farm, in their industry, or in their community.

PRESENTATIONS

I have presentations targeted to several key audiences, although I’m able to customize my messaging to fit the needs and goals of my audiences. Each of these talks explores my work with Harborview Farms in different ways, helping provide inspiration and concrete, on-the-ground knowledge about the process and principles of regenerative farming.

  • FARMERS

In this talk, I focus on implementing large-scale nutrient management strategies on our 13,000 acre farm, and how revolutionary agricultural technology like GPS, farm management software, and precision equipment have transformed our process and our farming landscape. I also discuss carbon trading and carbon sequestration, and how farmers can unlock the potential in their soils to benefit the environment and their bottom line.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIENCES

For audiences focused on an environmental message, I explore the mindset of a farmer, and the challenges or possibilities they face when considering or implementing regenerative agriculture. Informed by my own first-hand experiences, I discuss the rewards of returning to an agricultural approach that values stewardship and a connection to the land—building from farming’s traditional roots but using 2020’s technology . Regenerative farming on a large scale is not just an idealistic vision, it is a critical element to our environmental future— and through real-world examples at Harborview Farms, I argue that it can and and must be implemented now.

  • AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY

The industry needs to innovate, but it all starts with individual farmers. In this talk, I discuss how different industry stakeholders can coach farmers to provide support, guidance, and real-world solutions. I also explore how critical collaboration is for innovative ideas and for getting boots-on-the-ground results—whether it’s collaborations on an industry level or a crossover between farmers and industry. And finally, I cover the full-scale learning potential of farms, and how a spirit of experimentation can lead to unexpected and innovative results.
